General Manager of Libya Oil Company Holds Meeting with Workers’ Union to Discuss Employment and Operational Issues

On the morning of Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the General Manager of the Joint Libya Oil Company, Dr. Aqeel Abu Bakr Ghalboun, 

held a meeting with the company’s workers’ union.

 The meeting was attended by the union’s president, Mr. Ahmed Abdul Samad,

and a number of employees from various departments and sections.

Dr. Ghalboun welcomed the attendees and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to resolving employee issues and meeting

their needs to enhance work efficiency and productivity. He encouraged transparency in discussing demands affecting work progress.

The attendees discussed improving employees’ financial conditions, including salary increases, annual bonuses, and implementing

 labor day regulations, alongside providing comprehensive medical insurance. 

They also highlighted the needs of service departments in terms of allowances, bonuses, and vehicles to improve productivity.

The importance of training in work development and enhancing employee efficiency was underscored, with participants noting

 that human development is key to the company’s success.

 The meeting also addressed safety and security measures to ensure the safety of fuel transport trucks and workers during fuel distribution.

Discussions included transport and operational management challenges and requested specific systems to improve work accuracy and speed.

Issues in distribution and transport, lack of resources, and the recognition of employees at the end of their careers were also covered.

In closing, Dr. Ghalboun discussed operational and distribution delays and the need for new systems to expedite work processes.

 He addressed job congestion and measures taken against dual employment within the company.

 Temporary contracts lacking health insurance will be integrated into the service upon board approval, aligning them with regular employees.

Dr. Ghalboun emphasized that the true asset of the company lies in its hardworking employees despite limited resources.

 He concluded by announcing upcoming measures to increase company revenues and address many of the demands raised.
