About Oil libya
Libya Oil Company was established under Resolution No. 292 of 2007 and is authorized to engage in the distribution and marketing of petroleum products.
The company’s activities include:
- Transporting and distributing petroleum products.
- Marketing petroleum products through public and private stations.
- Supplying ships with petroleum products.
- Providing petroleum products to major consumers, such as factories and companies.
- Importing and distributing oils and pesticides.
Departments and Sections
These activities are carried out through a range of departments and sections, including:
Sales
The sale and distribution of various petroleum derivatives are managed through sales offices across different regions of Libya, including:
- Company-owned fuel stations.
- Private fuel stations.
- Sales to major consumers.
Procurement
One of the key objectives of Libya Oil Company is to source materials, whether locally or internationally, from reliable and specialized suppliers. The company ensures that all procurement aligns with its policies by selecting the best offers and prices available.
Maintenance
The company operates its own maintenance workshops, equipped with modern tools and machinery to service both light and heavy vehicles, as well as maintain its fuel stations.
Transportation
The company owns a fleet of transport vehicles fitted with tanks to safely transport and distribute petroleum derivatives, products, and gas according to customer requests. These include deliveries to distribution stations, airports, ports, factories, and other locations across all cities and villages within Libya.
Supply Management
The Supply Management department ensures the provision of all operational requirements—materials, supplies, spare parts, machinery, etc.—for the company’s various sites, facilitating the operation of all production facilities. This is carried out in line with the approved budget and in coordination with other departments to fulfill domestic and international purchase requests for materials that cannot be sourced locally.
Technical Affairs Management
The Technical Affairs Management oversees the maintenance of company facilities and the execution of new projects and plans aimed at achieving the following objectives:

Preparing engineering designs, scopes of work, bills of quantities, and financial estimates for maintenance and new projects at stations and company facilities.

Preparing project procedures, evaluating technical bids, and coordinating contracting procedures with companies for project implementation, in collaboration with the Investment and Strategic Planning departments.

Monitoring emergency and routine mechanical maintenance at fuel stations, including the renewal and repair of worn-out pumps, replacement of suction and ventilation lines, and maintenance of electrical networks.

Overseeing the implementation of the company’s approved project budget plan.
Occupational Safety and Environmental Protection
Environmental protection is one of our primary responsibilities and ongoing commitments. The Safety and Environmental Protection department manages environmental matters in accordance with the regulations of the General Environmental Authority.
To ensure compliance, the company has developed and issued several operational manuals, including guidelines and technical specifications covering air purity evaluation, water quality standards, occupational health systems, transportation of hazardous materials, waste management procedures, and effective oil spill response plans.
